On what I do

These words that I write are, as I must confide, not my words. I have, in my pursuit to express, lent them. I have lent them from a silent heart that speaks in a language that we do not understand anymore. As I do so, I must also clarify and justify my position-
The heart of this world, the heart to which we have in our times headed no respect or attention. Cries and wails. The need for love and acceptance is universal, in our tender hearts we all- I must say, are desperate. And still we find ourselves in a fix. For us,the need of acceptance has now become the cause of the, demise, of ourselves. The acceptance of which I confer, is at any cost not the need of our character. For us to even fathom the steepness of this fall, that we so blatantly plunge ourselves into, we must peruse through our own character and accept it. And still it is not that we have difficulty in accepting ourselves, it is hard to accept everybody else. For us it is not a great deal to love ourselves but to love everyone as they are. You might examine and say then what of hate? Hate and love are like the two balances that keep this world straight on its fulcrum. But what is to hate when there is nothing to love? Hate must survive, the curse of its love. It must survive only in our meager hearts for our meager deeds. The fact and the freedom to change is the answer to this question. We must hate what has not changed, which should have altered for good. Only then will we justify hate, and augment our civilization. So, now you may ask- What of the fact that most of us have lost ourselves in this competitive pursuit of acceptance?
To which I would suggest an answer that is for sure not possible. We must then find ourselves….
In this wilderness, this wilderness of false hope and humanity if we find ourselves in some solitude I think we should keep it for ourselves. No matter what it takes we mustn’t let our dreams die. The real dreams, not the ones that we were thrust upon. This is the only way we can resurrect our society. Allowing everyone to be the way they are. When I say this I do not encourage the acceptance
of bad behavior or you would say immoral behavior. It must not be tolerated as it only is an act of parching somebodies individuality. When we have done as I suggest we shall make a world that we all will want to live in.

This is the world and its heart that I owe my words to.
I am no idealist but a sure thinker. I think…Image

My life and Syd Barrett’s way

A man once walked on earth that treads in our dreams now,
He may have vanished but his words still linger in our hearts now,
His embellishments have espoused our fate now.
Syd barrett

This not an introduction to a star or an idol or even an inspiration. But to a genius, an iconoclast, to his words, a mental monster, also his disintegration and breakdown. I am talking about a forgotten king of music –Syd barrett. Remnants of his ideas remain in the form of his music and his words.
I have been an avid fan of Syd barrett for a long time now. Even though I have been aware of his tragic end, I have never been less astonished. His secret lies in the fact that his songs and their meaning still remain relevant and how even a man on the verge of breakdown could speak for the feelings and emotions of the majority (sane majority to be precise).
“Bike “- a song some would interpret as a description of childish love and its innocence. But how many times have you been inclined to say “You’re the kind of girl that fits in with my world.” to someone and in the exact same way? This song also has a sense of desperation of “adult” love, “I’ll give you anything, everything if you want things.”. Have we not felt the same way? But what amuses me about this song is the way he is trying to convince the “girl” in the song. The same blandishments we must have experimented with. Telling a girl how decorated and beautiful our own world is “ I’ve got a bike. You can ride it if you like. It’s got a basket, a bell that rings and things to make it look good.” and how even the smallest things matter.
Another song that catches my imagination and I can certainly relate to is “Jugband blues” and no I am not an addict. But I have certainly felt the aloofness and a similar kind of non-attachment . And how can we run away from the fact that we have lived our life thinking about the world we are not part of and have (sometimes)swiftly melted way into that world without concurring to world we live in “It’s awfully considerate of you to think of me here,And I’m much obliged to you for making it clear,That I’m not here.”.
If I was given a chance to trade my life with his, I would have done so. Not because I would have then become a genius or a legend in some ways or have created the best music even in adverse mental conditions but for the sake of “his”fervent emotions.

Dark Globe
Oh where are you now
willow that smiled on this leaf?
When I was alone you promised the stone from your heart
My head kissed the ground
I was half the way down, treading the sand
Please, please, lift a hand
I’m only a person whose armbands beat
On his hands, hang tall
Won’t you miss me?
Wouldn’t you miss me at all?

Dilemma of an atheist-celebrating Christmas

Now as the festivities of Christmas end. I am left wondering should I be participating is such celebrations or even wishing Merry Christmas. Being an atheist you are often confronted with such questions on every nook and corner of life. Well, that is what atheism is about. You can weigh up your credentials and act as your ratified logic ushers.
One of my friends(a rather vocal atheist) was banished from a Christmas party just because of his atheistic ideology.
They shouldn’t have done so for
1) their GOD(if he ever existed) is in everyone and surely is in an avid atheist.
2) they could have tried to change his mind maybe showing him the blandishments that led them to believe.
3) the GOD himself would have permitted( I think he doesn’t distinguish)
Well, personally I didn’t celebrate Xmas thinking it was brandish and superficial.
Their is one more viewpoint to this though. The people themselves celebrating Christmas are shamelessly atheistic about Santa themselves. But decorated Santa’s are certainly omnipresent. Atheists in my view can celebrate Christmas as it’s just one more god they wish to disapprove of and then somebody has to preserve these cultural ceremonies(for old times sake).

Song from a grave,a poets demise.

I am the king of all the poets, the lord of all the lore,
I stand on a higher ground, above all the lament roar,
I grow as I tread, spearing through the wind,
I shall declare me,
I am the god of ego! I am the ghost song!
The words I say revolt me, come crashing on my head,
I live on them, and all that is heard and read,
No sky binds me, no earth is my walk,
I have my own earth and a sky to mock,
Real or right, I coalesce them well,
A grimace on the pulpit as I wither my shell,
Time and distance no longer confront me,
As I am there voice, and they, the song to me,
I weave my soul and my heart, into the lyrics,
They stand as life, as bare mimics,
And now I tug myself into a coffin,
A god must die too, a holy law,
As my voice is heard,
I the song, I the lyrics, is learnt,
No passion now caresses the face of life,
I say adieu to my song, my love, my soul wife,
This romance shall end.

A new ATHEIST

For most of us the question is not if god exists but if its existence does any good to us. It is a very selfish and an individualistic approach towards a very vital selfless and universal ideology. I must say if you are one of them who believe in some faith because of the above mentioned thought – you are not a believer. I would call you a stupid opportunist or may be tempted to call you an atheist.
Now, the atheists would despise me for such thoughts but I think this is what atheism is all about believing is something that helps you. They may tell you to believe in yourself, as you’re the only person who can help you. Atheists have their own beliefs and dogmas (which are very open to criticism) even though despise other religions and creeds.
Most people think of atheists as isolated people with no significant intellectual contribution to the society. I oppose this notion and on the contrary atheists or non-believers have the power to bring about a larger change than the faithful believers. Only a free thinker can challenge and question the most difficult of questions.
Atheists are not bound by dogmas and social obligations. They possess the power to think boundlessly and criticize everything. Criticism is a very important tool for development of a society or religion to bring about change. Everything must be put on the table and should be analyzed and debated. Existence of god is not the only question but many social practices like idol worship must be debated. Atheists must be strong and audible enough to ask these questions to the most highly placed believers.
Only if existence of god is proven or not proven substantially then world can come to peace.
Here is a thought that can confuse you and has confused me all my life. If I think of god as my imaginary friend and not a physical existing entity am I a believer or not?

O Captain! My Captain!

O Captain my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up–for you the flag is flung for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You’ve fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

By-Walt Whitman

The poem was written by Walt Whitman concerning about the death of Abraham Lincoln. The poem is very objective and talks about things symbolically. The captain is Abraham Lincoln and the ship is United States of America.

Oh me! Oh Life! by Walt Whitman

Oh me! O life! of the questions of these recurring,
Of the endless traines of the faithless, of cities fill’d with the
foolish,
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish
than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light, of the objects mean, of the
struggle ever renew’d
Of the poor results of all, of the plodding and sordid crowds I
see around me,
Of the empty and useless years of the rest, with the rest me
intertwined,
The question, O me! so sad, recurring–What good amid these,
O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here–that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.

Suckers dont dream!!!

My hello!!!!!!! and my condolences reaches out to all those  who think that their life SUX !

Well! the word is “Common”,the word that describes most of us.”Amm janta ” (as they say) .We all lust to make it big. Every night all of us, forgetting our daily dose of turmoil, dream of being on the top, to be the best (rather beating the best), killing our opponents and all those crap things (things that would be crap for all those son of bitches called successfuls).
We’re too happy with our lives, its actually a compulsion. Crushed by power and feed by dreams we are given no choice, outgrown aspirations and underdeveloped resources.
We are human resources waiting to be exploited (ever read the management books?) and brainless voters for the poltitians…we are a crowd of biomass (thats how we end up like).
But we have a fetish of dreaming and I am still learning to dream reality!!!!!
~~~~~IN ORDER TO CHANGE IT~~~~
10 Tips For Novice Fiction Writers
1.What is the Hook of your Story?
The most important aspect of fiction writing is a hook. Your hook should be like an anchor in the ocean, you may move away from it but too far and you’ll have to bounce back! Write down the genre of your story on a page, then pick up the most important one. Remember it is upto you to decide what your story is.
2.Dont Write Long Introductions!
Prologues are a common part of novels since they started. It gives the readers a basic idea about what is in the book,before they turn the pages! But most of the readers skip that part.
One, because it flattens the excitement, two because it just adds to the bulk. You can get over this problem by writing an interesting prologue. Like telling about the features readers won’t find in the book or giving meanings of some concepts which arent defined in the book.
Like J.Tolkien wrote the appendix for The Lord of the Rings which made the readers clear about Elvish tongue and how few words have to be pronounced!
3.Who is the Hero?
This is another important thing to note while you are writing. Many novels have multiple characters,but the acclaimed ones are which show atleast one above all. Sometimes people write dark novels, in that case it is okay to have many heroes and the readers always end up with discussions about who really was the hero! So you have to be strict about the former or latter based upon the genre of your novel. Another rage among new artists is Anti-Hero.Well its good to have one, but in the end remember as you write think of your anti-hero as the hero.Whether he does good deeds or bad, he is smarter than the rest and he wins in the end!
4.Do not use Half-Knowledge
Most fiction writers are misled by the very word FICTION. They think they can use their imagination on every aspect of their work. But that is wrong, if something exists and you manipulate how it looks, your readers maybe infuriated. It altogether doesn’t make any sense to write something about which you have little knowledge. Do research on the subject if it is indeed necessary for you to write the thing.For Example-Paulo Coelho has every minute information about the topics he mentions and he willingly discusses it with the readers and thats what fascinates the subject!
5.Avoid GOT!
Novice writers are often led into writing the word got. It is a very common verb which can be used almost universally.But,more you use the word, the more readers conclude that you are not a professional.for example,this sentence is what most writers would tend to write:-I GOT on Horseback within ten Minutes after I GOT your Letter. When I GOT to Canterbury, I GOT a Chaise for the Town. But I GOT wet before I GOT to Canterbury ad I HAVE GOT such a Cold as I shall not be able to GET rid off in a Hurry.
The better version of this sentence would be:-I MOUNTED my Horse within ten minutes after I RECEIVED your Letter:as soon as I ARRIVED at Canterbury, I ENGAGED a Post Chaise for Town. I was wet through before I REACHED Canterbury and I have taken such a Cold as I shall not be easily CURED!
6.Depiction of Persons and Surroundings!
Most of the writers these days proceed in their work keeping in mind that one day a movie would be based on it. Thus they start giving minute details about the persons and surroundings. Some can do it very well but some are stuck up doing the same. For example Ayn Rand has used a very brilliant writing technique in The Fountainhead to describe the persons, she concentrates less on the environment on the other hand JRR Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings creates a scenery first and then minutely describes the character. Most of the writers are confused which trend to follow and thus they end up doing both of them. Thats not right,you should have your own ways since your first novel. Always be a trend-setter. Also do not describe the persons again and again,the readers are intelligent enough to remember the picture once drawn!
7.About Dialogues!
The writers read on various websites that repetitions aren’t good for a book, think of more and more words for each situation. That is correct but in case of dialogues SAID is the only word that should be used most of the times. Most writers end up using different verbs for different dialogues. That is okay upto some stretch but not beyond that.Don’t start digging up the thesaurus for synonyms of said. The reader would feel angry about opening a dictionary in the middle of an interesting scene!
8.How to Start?
This is the most common debate, even amongst non writers. It should have been in the starting but as most of you know a lot about this topic so I keep it at 8th. From when we were kids our teachers have been telling us to start a story, essay or anything by a phrase or a scene that catches the attention of the reader immediately. Same is the case with novels, keep your most disturbing chapter on the top.Like if your novel is about a fight between two groups, do not start with the conditions which led to the scuffle, rather start with the fighting scene, tell the readers what is happening on the field. Then later give the descriptions! Now the last 2 points would look naive to many, but they are important.
9.Give Time!
Now as the title suggests its about giving ample time to your novel. There are a lot of disturbing factors once you sit to write, like a call from a friend for usual chatting, your mom asked you a favor, a cousin came to meet you at your house, all these are important too but amongst all this give the time your book deserves. Once you are in a flow,don’t let anyone disturb you, because that is the moment when you write your best!
10.Use a Pen!
This point may confuse many of you, but this is an essential one. Writing your chapters with a pen is lot different than typing them into your laptop. One reason is that you may lose the files in your Computer and then have to brag about it. But the main reason is when you write with a pen,your brain synchronizes with your pen and regards it as an extension of your hand. As it thinks, it compels the pen to write. Whereas you lose ideas when you open your fingers to type, the neurons are shaken and they lose the signal. So always prefer a pen and notebook!
